Dear North Plains Families,
Thank you to all those who were able to contribute to the food drive. We collected over 3200 cans and will be helping over 600 families this holiday season!
December 18 and 19 is the Holiday Gift Shop! Students will select items for two significant adults and get to wrap them and take them home for free! Thank you for all of the donations and to those that can come and help next week! here is the link to sign up to volunteer: Holiday Gift Shop Volunteers
There are two big field trips in the next week; Sixth grade goes to Biz Town on Tuesday the 17th, and Fourth grade will release their salmon in the Tualatin River on the 19th. I'm anxious to hear all about these exciting adventures when they return!
Saturday the 14th, Lucky To Serve will be wrapping Christmas gifts for the hundreds of local families they support. This organization is lead by our own Mrs. Bottema here at NPES. If you would like to come help wrap, we will begin at 9AM in the gym.
Do you have an old laptop computer you no longer need? If you do, I would love to have it to take with me to Uganda this summer. I'll be going back to Village of Hope, Uganda, in July to support the staff and students in both Bwayle and Bobi villages. Technology is limited, and I'm hoping to bring at least two laptops, one for each doctor's office in each village.
Vermont Hills Family Life Center, our after school care program, will be providing a winter camp Dec. 30 and 31, and Jan. 2 and 3. Care is available from 7AM - 6PM on those dates. Locations are either at St. Cecilia School in Beaverton or the Portland Village School in North Portland. Families can register on their website, www.vhflc.org or can contact the main office at 503-452-8633 for more information.
Have a wonderful weekend!
